Makedaversary and Good-Bye

It was two years ago today that my daughter was placed in my arms and my life changed forever. I didn’t start this blog until after I received my referral, and it was intended to be as much a way of keeping in touch with all the wonderful people I’d met along the way, as it was about celebrating my daughter and our life together. So today I celebrate our two years together and say good-bye to this, my blog. I think the only blogs I comment on anymore are the ones where I’ve now met the authors face-to-face, and I know we’ll be in touch for years to come. But it will be by email, and in-person. Perhaps if I am ever able to overcome the fits and starts of adoption #2, I’ll blog again to honour that equally special child, but in the meantime, I hereby revert to lurking.

Thanks for the ride guys,

xox

I'd like to be the first to comment. I'm the mom & gramma to B & M, and even tho' I see & talk to them all the time, I'm gonna miss this. I've become a Pass Me My Wine junkie. You've done a great job, Barb. Makeda will love all your postings as she gets older.
love,
Mom

ACK! Well, you know how I feel about this end. I'm just glad I coerced you into blogging in the first place. It's been great to follow along.

After seeing Makeda this weekend and now looking back at these old pictures, I'm again amazed at how much Mak Daddy has grown. She's such a beautiful girl. And she was so sweet with Biset. She's going to be a wonderful big sister. I hope you do decide to pick up this blog again when daughter #2 makes her presence known to you.

I will miss you posts, but am so glad that you are a dear friend IRL.

love,
hazel & biset

I too will echo many of the comments that the photos and day to day (okay, who am I kidding...few weeks to few weeks) updates have been so great. Hope to continue our email-ship...and definitely an in person visit (hopefully small african child in tow) so soon. Appreciate all your tolerance and help over the months. Okay, now this is sounding like an obit.
Take care. Keep in touch.

Will miss you in cyberspace but hope we can say" pass me my wine" in person as time goes by.

I've become a bit of a lurker, myself. Wishing you and Makeda all the best, and looking forward to the next IAMASLUT gathering.

Well, how typical! Now that I have come to wish you happy anniversary, you close the damn thing down. Not that I am paranoid or anything. ANyway, guess I will have to pass you your wine in person! Fitting that I may well be the last person to write a comment here :-)

(And why is my word verification "butpinks"!!! Jeez...)

I think I have been in denial and keep coming by here hoping that Haze has convinced you to change your mind... but alas... it is true.. you are done. I have loved reading your blog and the best part is that we actually got to connect in person because of it. Looking forward to more visits with you and the lovely Miss M. I also cant wait to hear good news from you on number 2...
take care,
